Denver Gaels Newsletter for 10/29

Hey Denver Gaels,
Here’s your weekly rundown of all the latest club news and updates!

Indoor Update-IMPORTANT INFO
Our annual indoor hurling hurling and gaelic football session has officially been scheduled! It will be taking place at The South Suburban Sports and Recreation Dome in Centennial, from Tuesday November 11 through Tuesday, Dec. 23. It will take place from 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Cost will be $40 for one sport, and $50 for two if you’re paying in advance. If not, it will cost $10 per week. This is a fantastic value (the average indoor soccer league costs roughly $80 per season), so be sure to register ASAP! The link to register can be found here.

Fall Ball Update
Our next fall ball session will take place on Sunday, November 2, at Cook Park, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Hurling will take place from 11 until noon, and football will play from noon until 1.

Halloween Party- Friday, Oct. 31, The Irish Rover
Come out and join the Gaels for the Halloween part at the Rover on Halloween night. Come in costume, and enjoy the musical stylings of our own DJ Shay (and Kim Tessean rocking out to some Celine Deion).

Women’s Football Meeting- Sunday, Nov. 2, 1 p.m., The Irish Rover
The women’s football team will hold a planning meeting on Sunday, November 2. Anyone interested in playing football this season should make every effort to attend. If you can’t make it, please email Shay Dunne to let him know.

November Social Event- Poker Night at Dougherty’s, Saturday, Nov. 15
Come join the Gaels for a night of cards, fun and prizes at Dougherty’s. Put on your sunglasses and practice your bluffing, and come out to play a bit of poker with the club! No experience necessary; even the greenest players are welcome to come and gave fun. There will be drinks, craic and prizes for the winners!

Got Old Equipment? Do you have old hurls, helmets, or footballs that you don’t want anymore? Do you have a hurl that’s the wrong size for you, or a helmet that doesn’t fit your gigantic head? Donate it to the Colorado College and University Gaelic Sports programs! They’re in need of equipment to help players learn the sports, and are hoping we can help. Contact Kim Tessean if you have anything you’d be willing to give.

Newsletter update
Do you have an event or an update you want to go out to the club? We’ll get it into our weekly email that will go out every Tuesday (starting next week, since this week it’s going out on Thursday). If you have something you’d like us to include (social events, club events, fundraising opportunities, etc.) send it to Sam Westmoreland. In order to get your event into the newsletter, please get your information (date, time, location, what the event is) in to Sam by Monday night. If it’s not in by then, the info will be included in the following week’s email.
